Gas Compression

Gas compression systems are where Energy360 excel. With extensive experience, designing high performance systems utilising the best components for each site.

Gas pressure usually needs to be boosted from source, using a fan or a blower to ensure it flows through to the piping, control equipment and flare at a sufficient rate. Then a specific flow and gas knockout pot is installed upstream of the blower to prevent it being damaged by water.

Additional safety mechanisms are installed including shut-off valves and flame arrestors to prevent the flame burning back up the system.

A typical gas handling system for an enclosed flare also has a control system on the combustion air, which maintains the combustion systems temperature.

Each project is unique and Energy360 are experienced gas compression manufacturers, designing the most appropriate system for the type of gas and its intended use.

The Energy360 designed system is comprised of the following main sections:

  • BDS (Biogas Delivery System) Skid
  • Enclosed Flare Skid
  • CAL (Covered Anaerobic Lagoon) Diaphragm Pressure Relief System

The BDS is used to dewater and raise the pressure of the biogas generated in the CAL for use as a replacement fuel for a boiler, onsite behind the meter.

The enclosed flare is used to combust excess biogas generated by the CAL and is intended to be used if the biogas produced by the CAL cannot be utilised in the boilers.

The CAL Diaphragm Pressure Relief System is used to provide emergency venting of the biogas to a safe location from the CAL if required.

Once commissioned, the biogas will displace 80TJs of natural gas per annum in a steam boiler, on a like-for-like basis saving energy costs of approximately $1.7M pa.
